Micromax finally announced its new Ignite series Windows Laptops in India, with the Micromax Ignite and Micromax Alpha as the first laptops from these two series. According to the company, the Ignite series will target seasoned laptop owners while the Micromax Alpha series will focus on the first-time owners.

The Micromax Ignite series will be released with Windows 10 installed and will be powered by Intel Pentium processors. The Micromax Ignite LPQ61 has an IPS LED backlit display size of 14-inches that supports a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, comes with a 1TB HDD and is powered by an Intel Pentium N3700 with four cores, four threads and clocked at 1.6GHz. In addition, you can burst clock the processor at 2.4GHz; no matter what you do, the processor is backed by 4GB LPDDR3 RAM.

Connectivity-wise, the Micromax Ignite LPQ61 features two USB 3.0 ports, a microSD card reader, Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth version 4.0, one micro-HDMI port and a 3.5m audio jack. In addition, the laptop sports a HD webcam, stereo speakers and will be available only in Black color. You can now purchase the Micromax Ignite LPQ61 for Rs. 18,990 from Flipkart’s website.

It seems that Micromax understands that it needs to create newer categories of laptops because there are many out there who need more powerful laptops. We agree the laptop category is not growing very fast these days, but if companies manufacture high performance devices, we are pretty sure that many will be interested in purchasing them — regardless of their price.
