Microsoft is preparing to launch a major update to the Photos app to Windows 10 Insiders. This way, the company will expand the current features and add some more.
The new version will be version 2017.39101.15230.0 for Windows 10 PC and tablets, and it will bring some new public features. Some of the new features, on the other hand, will only be available to select Insiders.
Public features visible to all Insiders
- There will be a Premium content available to Office 365 users that will include Themes, Music and Special Effects.
- The new features will include Story Enhancements.
- There will also be a switch to request access to A/B testing.
Hidden features
- There will be a Favorites section that was previously available on Windows 10 Mobile. Now users will be able to favor their pics with a heart icon or by pressing the F key.
- Another new feature is the Stickers and Texts for Microsoft Photo Stories as a part of the Story Special Effects Collection. You’ll be able to add your own creations, magical hats, eyeglasses, traditional hats, vintage cars and more. These will be customizable in size, color, and transparency.
- A Companion App for Android and iOS is coming soon, and this will allow you to transfer pics, and videos quickly from your smartphone to the Photos App for Windows 10.
The Photos app slowly but surely becoming one of the coolest Windows 10’s UWP apps from the collection. Microsoft still has to solve the issue of the app’s engagement on the desktop.
Users will be able to show their pics on the desktop instead of passing their phone around to their friends. Most likely, Windows 10 users will be pretty impressed with these new features set to arrive to Microsoft’s Photos app.
